I&#8217;ve been thinking about this after reading a little story from Elif Shafak, one of my favourite writers, where she shared how she was once told she would never be more than an &#8220;amateur&#8221; writer, as she wasn&#8217;t dedicating all her time to writing.  What a lofty (male) perspective, not understanding how some of us need to do other things to support our practice.
