Sheila’s (almost ) weekly update, 22 May

Amateur? professional? what’s the difference. I’ve been thinking about this after reading a little story from Elif Shafak, one of my favourite writers, where she shared how she was once told she would never be more than an “amateur” writer, as she wasn’t dedicating all her time to writing. What a lofty (male) perspective, not understanding how some of us need to do other things to support our practice. Anyway watch to hear more about what it made me think about.
